Medium to large fruit with golden-yellow skin covered in patches and dots of russet and red streaks. Very good cooked or fresh, with firm, coarse, juicy white flesh. Flavour is sweet and slightly subacidic. Vigorous and spreading growth habit. Originated in Oregon, USA.
Being a winter pear (as opposed to summer pears that are best enjoyed with minimal storage), the fruit should be picked and allowed to wait 2-6 months (depending on cultivar) in cold storage.
