A cross between American and Japanese plums, the hybrid plums tend to be a little more cold hardy while maintaining good flavour. Some hybrid plums are self-pollinating and others require another variety for self-pollination. Hybrid plums are best suited for pollinating each other but are also compatible with Japanese plums. European plums are not suitable pollination partners.
