Silver Creek Nursery is highly regarded as a great place to buy LIVE & true to name (to the best of our knowledge), dwarf, semi-dwarf & full-sized bareroot fruit trees from Southern Ontario. You can purchase trees and plants online (or in-store); we ship across Canada!

An old farming adage goes: "Where there is livestock, there is deadstock." Plants are no different and one of the challenges of selling live (dormant) plants is that it is sometimes impossible to tell if a tree is dead (or will leaf out then die) due to dry roots or winterkill.

We do our best to provide excellent quality live plants and trees, however there are always a small percentage of trees that are just not able to properly break dormancy and thrive. In the event that this happens to you, please let us know!

Our 90 Day Guarantee
We guarantee that our nursery stock is in living condition at the time of receipt by you, the customer. Much of our nursery stock is sold in a dormant condition and it may take some time to show signs of life after planting. Please allow at least 45 days after purchase for dormant plants to leaf out.

If your nursery stock is dead or unsatisfactory, please submit your claim to us within 90 days of the invoice date. We require clear photos of the affected plant(s) before honoring a claim. We will review your claim and, at our discretion, will issue store credit in the amount of the purchase price or a replacement plant depending on customer preference. SHIPPING COSTS ARE NOT COVERED for replacement orders that require shipping. Store credit can be used towards any future purchase from us and does not expire.

There are a lot of variables involved with living plants, and under certain circumstances we may offer complete refunds when it appears that we have an issue with an entire batch of plants.

We try to be fair and understanding, but we simply cannot offer a one-year guarantee or any guarantee of a plant's ability to overwinter in your location. Unlike potted trees, most of our nursery stock is quite tender, and requires some degree of diligence on your part to maintain its health and prepare the plants for winter. Therefore, we limit claims to 90 days from invoice date.

Please Note: For wholesale orders, losses below 5% will not be considered. 

Bareroot Peach Trees
Bareroot peach trees are only guaranteed for 7 days. For pickup orders this is 7 days after you pick them up from our location and for shipped orders this is 7 days after they are delivered to you. We are very pleased to be able to offer peach trees to our customers, but due to the unique challenges of growing peach trees and the increased care required for their success, we regrettably cannot offer our standard 90 day guarantee on peaches. 

Upon receiving your peach trees, please inspect them to your satisfaction immediately. As with our 90 Day Guarantee, send us clear photos of any affected plant(s) and we will offer either store credit or a replacement if we determine there is a problem with the tree. If we do not hear from you within 7 days of receipt, you will have been deemed to have accepted the trees in as-is condition.

Potted Nursery Stock
Potted plants may be exchanged or returned for a full refund within 3 days of purchase, provided that they are not dehydrated and have not been removed from the nursery container. After 3 days, the same 90 Day Guarantee (7 days for peaches) applies as for bareroot nursery stock (see above).

Warranty on Varieties/Species 

We warrant that all plants we sell are true to name (for named varieties such as Ambrosia apples) or species (ex. in the case of plants such as redbud seedlings or peach seedlings). While we do our best to make sure everything is true to type, unfortunately we sometimes run into human error, either on our end or our suppliers' end, and the plants we sell are not what we said they were. 

The warranty generally DOES NOT COVER plants of indeterminate species, hybrids, or plants grown from seed sourced from named varieties that differ from said variety. We ask that you read the product descriptions carefully since we do not know the exact species of some plants, some seedling plants may be hybridized, and we note if any plants are seedlings of named varieties rather than clonally propagated. However, we may still honour the warranty if, at our discretion, you receive a plant in one of these categories and it varies significantly from what you would have reasonably expected. 

If you receive any plant from us that you believe is not true to type, please let us know, provide as much information as you can pertaining to the issue with the plant you received, and send photos. As compensation, we can offer a refund or store credit for the amount spent on the plant(s) in question or replacements where available. SHIPPING FEES WILL APPLY to any replacement plants if delivery is required. 

Please note we only warrant that plants are true to name and ARE NOT LIABLE for any other warranties/obligations including but not limited to: any economic losses, loss of time and resources, any resulting damages, and so forth. 

Other Products
All other non-perishable and non-plant products are sold with a 30 day refund policy, excluding shipping costs. To qualify for a refund, products must be returned to us in complete condition.
