Daffodil is the common name used to refer to various species in the genus Narcissus. Native to parts of Europe and northern Africa, these flowers have been celebrated for their beauty since antiquity. They feature in many works of art and literature, have been used in traditional medicine (although parts of the plant are toxic), and are celebrated as heralds of spring. Unsurprisingly, they are an extremely popular garden plant to this day!
